Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 16,400 clubs in 141 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations. As of March 2018, there are more than 352,000 members worldwide and 187 clubs and more than 4,000 members in Japan.

 

 

Our Kofu Toastmasters meetings are comprised of approximately 10-20 people who meet monthly for two hours. We communicate with our member for using English. Participants practice and learn skills by filling a meeting role, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an impromptu one to serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian.

 

There is no instructor; instead, each speech and meeting is critiqued by a member in a positive manner, focusing on what was done right and what could be improved.

 

 

トーストマスターズは話し方、パブリックスピーチ、リーダーシップを学ぶ国際的な非営利団体です。全世界141ヵ国にある16,400 以上のクラブから自分にあったクラブを選び、会員同士が相互に学び、スピーチとリーダーシップスキルを向上させることが目的です。高額なセミナーとは違い、仲間たちと楽しい雰囲気の中、お互いに触発されながら学び合うことができる場を提供しています。2018年3月現在、全世界の総会員数は352,000人以上、日本国内には187のクラブがあり、総会員数は約4,000人以上です。

 

 

甲府トーストマスターズの代表的なプログラムである例会は2時間、月1回のペースで、10-20名ほどのメンバーが参加して行われます。 クラブでは英語でコミュニケーションを行います。例会では、全員にスピーチをする機会が与えられます。 まずは、「テーブルトピック」という1-2分の即興スピーチを実践し、「その場で素早く考える」技術を身につけていきます。 慣れてくると、今度はあなた自身がテーブルトピックの話題を用意して、参加者に質問をすることになるでしょう。 そして間もなく、準糒したスピーチの披露や論評、例会全体の司会などいろいろな役割を果たすようになります。 計時係や文法係といった役割もあります。 トーストマスターズには先生がいません。その代わり、メンバーが準備スピーチや例会全体を論評（評価）します。 論評者は前向きによかった点を認め、そしてどのように改善したらさらによくなるかを話します。 よいコミュニケーターは、よいリーダーでもあります。
